In October 2005 — five years to the month after I was originally diagnosed with cancer — the History Channel aired a special companion piece about the making of their November documentary series on The Crusades, called History in the Making (re-aired again in November). As part of this special piece, they interviewed people whom they considered to be  “modern-day crusaders” — people who were passionate and devoted to making a positive impact on the world at whatever personal sacrifice – and I was one of them!

In the middle of this 30-minute “Making Of” special (first aired on my Dad’s birthday at that!), there was a beautifully-shot segment dedicated to us sharing our journeys with viewers and (hopefully) inspiring others to “be the change they want to see in the world“! I am so honored to be among the handful of extraordinary people that were highlighted and are continuing to make history! Yeah!!
